TAMARA
Director/Teacher
¡Hola! Me llamo Tamara and I come from Zaragoza which is a city in the north of Spain.
Originally I completed my degree in tourism due to my passion for languages, travel and culture. Although I have lived in Germany and other parts of Spain to allow me to improve my language skills, I fell in love with Newcastle and it’s friendly people.
One of my other great passions is working with kids, as a result I completed a course for Recreational Activity coordinator, this lead me to teach English to children in a bilingual language academy in my city.
Once I moved to Newcastle in 2015 I immediately got a job as a Spanish Teacher in a language school which allowed me to bring together my love of language and working with children. As I continued to build on my knowledge I was promoted to Academic Coordinator, a role in which I was in charge of the early years curriculum (6 months to 6 years old) as well as being responsible for designing part of the curriculum for upper primary and high school.
Shortly after starting to teach I wanted to develop my knowledge further, which resulted in the decision to complete my masters in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. To date I have now been working as a teacher for more than 4 years providing classes to all ages (children and adults) using a variety of methods and techniques.
To assist with the continuous and further development of my career I also started to teach adults online which opened me up to more students from different backgrounds and abilities. This has aided in developing my teaching style and understanding the individual needs of each student.
I hope to teach you and to help you progress your Spanish skills here at The Spanish Box.
